Maine Jewry is a collaborative online resource for the history and genealogy of Maine’s Jewish communities. 

Bangor Public Library features two genealogy databases (Ancestry Library at Digital Maine Library, American Ancestors) as well as houses vital records, city directories, obituary indexes, etc.

Bangor Historical Society offers historic tours throughout Bangor including The Great Fire of 1911 tour that covers the devastation to the community.

Maine State Library has an online database with access to Ancestry.com and MyHeritage. 

Maine State Archives online database is available to the public in their Research Room and lists professional genealogists available for hire.

Bangor City Hall is a great resource for birth, death, and marriage records dating back to the early 1800s.

Bangor Family History Center provides online access through the Family History Center Portal to vital records. This service is only available through a computer in a Family History Center.

Maine Genealogy is an online database where you can search for marriage, divorce, obituaries, etc.

Pengen is the website for Penobscot County Genealogy Society and they work in partnership with Bangor Public Library.
